The excellent standard of both boat and service we received was second to none,
we very much enjoyed our route to Llangollen and were most appreciative of the
warm fire during the cold October nights, what a treat.
Having hired several narrowboats from various companies Mary Gray is of the highest
standard and combined with your excellent and relaxed service I am sure you
will see us again as soon as we able to make a plan.
I
am trying to think of something that irritated us, but simply cannot manage it,
many thanks again.
If you would like the questionnaire filled out please forward on a copy,

Hi Georgina,
Just a quick message to say once again many thanks for supplying us with a great boat for our holiday last week.
From the handover with all the important information well instructed to the, sad for us, handover back to you last Saturday.
We have hired many boats over the years, but Lizzie May outclassed them all by some margin. It is the only hire boat that we have hired, that gets admiring remarks by private boat owners on the canals..

We would like to express our thanks for the wonderful service you both showed
us on our recent holiday aboard Lizzie May. Right from our initial enquiry
through to our hug goodbye you were both true professionals.
Lizzie May is a beautiful boat and the your love for her comes over very
strongly. The extra little touches like the flowers and welcome pack are
typical of the attention to detail you add that made our holiday aboard Lizzie
May so very special.
We have booked with larger and more nationally known narrowboat hire companies
in the past and have frequently experienced their 'conveyor belt' service where
you are treated as a number not a person. However, for anyone considering a
narrowboat holiday, either for the first time or as a regular boater, I would
have no hesitation in recommending Mary Gray Narrowboat Holidays for their
holiday needs.
A reflection of our enjoyment of our holiday on Lizzie May
is that I have already booked for the same week in 2010!

Just to say how much we enjoyed our recent trip on the Lizzie May. As everyone
in our group said the hand over was exceptional and such a help. It gave us the
confidence we needed to handle the boat and we also felt that not every boat
user out there had the same quality of backup and instruction. It's so much
better knowing you have all that support and knowledge behind you. The
accommodation was very comfortable - TV in bed - what luxury!! We felt so
relaxed on the boat and were suffering withdrawal symptoms for a week after our
trip. see you next year.

Hi Georgina & Andy,
Thank you so much for the wonderful time we had aboard the Mary Gray. As you
know, it was our first time cruising the canals, it definitely won't be the
last. The Mary Gray is absolutely perfect for the job and as well as being
fitted out lovely, she handles like a dream.
Your guidance and advice on how to tackle locks etc was invaluable, and made
Vicky ( first mate and general galleyslave ) a lot more confident when you let
us loose on our own.
The run we did on the "shroppy" was perfect for our time aboard, to
Audlem, back to Beeston and then back towards Middlewich, filled the three days
without a worry, the scenery was stunning and the weather turned out beautiful
as well.
All the folk we met along the way were really friendly, and can't seem to do
enough to help, especially when they found out we were "newbies"
We enjoyed our boating
holiday very much on the Mary Gray, and you have been the perfect ‘hiress/
hostess’ – you made it all very easy and relaxing. Thank you again.

Everything we could possibly need was provided and more. Found the boat very comfortable and fantastically laid out. Many people commented on how lovely the boat was. Maps and info very useful. Spent an
excellent week on Mary Gray, cruised up to Ellesmere Port and back plus day
trip to Nantwich. Mary Gray was a great experience and ideal for a couple with
or without one older child or two youngsters. The boat itself was compact
but perfectly formed and very well appointed, clean and above all (especially
in February) very cozy. MG was easy to handle she behaved all week providing us
with a great base to explore the Cheshire countryside, Chester, the various
Canal side hostelries and other attractions. The boat Museum at Ellesmere Port
is well worth a visit (check opening times), and Chester Zoo is a manageable
walk from the toe path. Church Minshull is a great new marina and a good
place to start affording an easy access to the Llangollen, Shropshire
Union and Trent & Mersey Canals.
Georgina
and Andy looked after us well and and obviously like to run a tidy ship based
on making sure their guests are well briefed before they go out, providing extensive
back up if needed (it wasn't). They made us feel very welcome with their
personal tuition and "show around" It felt more like friends lending
us their boat rather than the usual "Here's your boat and keys"
approach that we have encountered in the past with larger hire companies.
We felt that Georgina cares very much for Mary Gray and this was apparent
in the very high standards of the boat. We look forward to trying out
their newest boat "Lizzy May" in the not to distant future.

We would just like to let you know how
much we enjoyed our holiday on the Lizzie May last week. We were very impressed
at the high standard of the boat and the extra touches of the provisions and flowers
were thoughtful and very kind. John felt that the course was informative and
quickly enabled him to get to grips with being “skipper” and to avoid possible
mishaps on the holiday itself. This enabled us to make the most of our week
afloat. Thank you additionally, for all the guidance and support you both gave,
both from the initial enquiry up to handing over, you provided a great service
and we would heartily recommend Mary Gray boats.
We are interested in booking again for Easter next year, and would be grateful
if you could contact us once the 2010 prices have been decided.

The boat was superb, and we saw a kingfisher which Tina had never seen before , so all in all an unforgettable experience !!
